CITY OF CLIFTON
NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION
Please take notice that, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 13:1D-157 and NJDEP’s Administrative Order No. 2021-25 on Environmental Justice, Ricova, Inc., doing business as Recycle City (“Recycle City”) will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023, at 6:00 pm. Due to COVID-related concerns, the meeting will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams, accessible via the Teams application, a web browser, or telephone. The purpose of the meeting is to receive public comments on a proposed change in operations at the Recycle City facility in the City of Clifton.
Recycle City is proposing to upgrade and modify the technology and operations at its Class A recycling center located at 41 Broad Street, Clifton, New Jersey (Block 15.02, Lot 1). This Class A facility has processed paper and cardboard materials since the early 1970’s under a variety of names. Recycle City will add an automated sorting line within its existing building to process commingled Class A recyclables (aluminum and steel cans, glass bottles and plastic containers). The sorting line will increase the tonnage of Class A recyclable materials from a maximum of 200 tons per day to 300 tons per day.
