PSE&G Meter Replacement

Attention Clifton Residents:

PSE&G contractors are currently working to replace existing electric meters with new Smart Meters throughout the City of Clifton.

These new meters will increase efficiency and are at no cost to residents. Letters have been mailed out to those residences whose meters are intended to be replaced this year, approximately a third of the City; an additional third will be completed next year, and the remainder to be completed by 2024.

You may receive a door hanger (pictured below) and with concerns in the past regarding the legitimacy of contractors, this message is to assure residents that safety is a primary concern. All contractors will wear protective personal equipment and proper identification, but if you are at all unsure and would like to verify their legitimacy, please call (908) 325-4020 to inquire.

I strongly encourage homeowners to visit https://nj.myaccount.pseg.com/myservicepublic/smartmeters to learn more about PSE&G smart meters.

Thank you,
Nick Villano
Clifton City Manager
